I have recently tried to Buy Shares through Equiniti and have been advised that this has been refused through yourselves. Could you please explain why? Many Thanks.

This is not quite true. Many financial services organisations like Equiniti use our online identity-checking services to help them satisfy money-laundering regulations quickly and without asking their customers to go to the hassle of submitting paper documents. However, there will be a few customers whose details we can't verify online, for a variety of reasons. In such cases, the organisation will instead ask to see conventional paper-based documents. So I suggest you go back to Equiniti and offer to send them proof of ID. Once they have checked this, I'm sure they'll be able to set up an account for you.
