MIDCheck allows insurers and their agents to query the Motor Insurance Database (MID) - the central record of policy information for all insured vehicles in the UK. Access is limited to authorised users only. Policy information for any vehicle on any date can be viewed by entering the vehicle registration mark (VRM) and a date. Insurers and Delegated Authorities querying their own policies will see all the policy details for the VRM and date entered. Insurers and Delegated Authorities querying a vehicle insured by another insurer will see information confirming the VRM, the insurer's name and contact details, and the policy number.
