Security Code
Encrypted numeric value contained in the data on the magnetic stripe, which can be checked to ensure that the information has not been altered in any way. This is also referred to as CVV (cardholder verification value) and is a 3 or 4 digit number printed on the signature strip or a 4-digit number printed on the front of a card.
