What can it do for me?

The DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) and DVLNI (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Northern Ireland) hold records for all UK registered motor vehicles. Every quarter, Experian takes data from these registers and uses it to create its suite of Vehicle Parc databases that provide information on all UK private and commercial vehicles and motorcycles.

This database is an important source of information for manufacturers, retailers and suppliers to the automotive and motorcycle industries. It has a wide range of applications including market share evaluation by manufacturer and model, dealer performance analysis, and local media planning. Allied to information on new cars from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Experian's data provides a comprehensive understanding of the new and used, private and commercial automotive and motorcycle markets.

A few key facts

• Experian's Vehicle Parc Statistics include information on model, segment, fuel type, engine size, registration, date acquired, number of owners, ownership type and postal sector of current keeper.
• The Vehicle Parc Statistics database is available by individual record, as accummulated counts or summarised reports. It is also available via the Internet or within Experian's desktop mapping software, Micromarketer Generation3.
