The changing SME credit landscape

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has and will continue to change our lives. For many businesses trading is different to pre-covid, with increased costs to fund PPE – and in consumer facing businesses, operating at vastly reduced capacity too.

The Government has taken unprecedented measures to alleviate risk, including furloughing, CBILS (Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme), Bounce Back Loan Scheme (BBLS) and Future Fund.

But SMEs in particular have been hit hard and continue to face many challenges. So how will this impact lending, how will it change and where are the risks and opportunities across the commercial sector?

In this podcast Ade O’Connor is joined by:

  • John Griffiths, Market Engagement Director for Credit and Risk at Experian Business Information
  • Matt Hicks, Commercial Director at Codat, and
  • Katrin Herrling, CEO and Co-Founder of Funding Xchange

As we discuss the changing SME landscape, what role data will have to play and how lenders can adapt to meet the needs of the changing SME credit landscape.
