What is an API?
API is the acronym used for the term ‘Application Programming Interface’. Within computer programming, this term refers to the routines, protocols and tools that are used to build software applications forming the foundations of its functionality. It is a programme broken into small files that hold the core functionality of the program. Increased web usage and cloud computing has led to an increased interest in them.
How can APIs help with data quality?
APIs can be placed in other programmes, helping to enhance the user experience for staff and customers. For data quality, this could be the placement of a contact verification API into a call centre system that helps the call centre agent capture the correct address details quickly and efficiently helping them answer the customer’s questions.
