What is PIM?

Product Information Management (PIM), conversely to Contact Data Management, refers to the managing of information necessary to the selling and marketing of products through an organisation's distribution channels.

Why use PIM?

Large retailers and similar organisations will benefit from using a Product Information Management solution due to ERP and CRM systems often not supporting data types outside of contact data - Email, Address, Mobile numbers for example.

Other benefits include:

  • Elimination of reliance on spreadsheets
  • Centralised, scalable solution
  • Ease of use, integration and timeliness
  • Creation of Product Master Data

What examples of data can PIM be used on?

Examples of product data that our clients have used our solutions on include qualitative information, Whisky Data (age, barrel type, year and more) and Asset Management.
