How do I apply for a copy of my credit report?

You can apply for a copy of your credit report via our website. The statutory fee is £2, payable by debit/credit card, or you can sign up for CreditExpert, our credit monitoring service, which costs £49.99, but there is a free 30-day trial. CreditExpert gives its members unlimited access to credit reports and also alerts them by e-mail or SMS text to significant changes to the information held about them.

There are other ways to order your report. Whether you order your report online, by telephone, or in writing, you have the option of a single report (£2), four quarterly reports (£8), or twelve monthly reports (£20).

• By telephone. Phone us anytime on 0870 241 6212. The fee is payable by credit or debit card in your own name. There is a 50p surcharge for credit report orders made by phone. You may want to avoid our busiest times, which are weekdays between 10 and 11am, and between Noon and 2pm.
• In writing. Print a copy of our application form, complete it, and send it to us including a cheque or postal order. (The address is on the form.) You should receive your credit report within seven working days of us receiving your application. You need Adobe® Reader® to open the printable form.

All report applications are subject to identity verification.

Can I view my credit report online?

Yes you can, by visiting CreditExpert.co.uk and signing up for a credit monitoring service from Experian. CreditExpert gives its members unlimited online access to their credit reports and also alerts them by e-mail or SMS text to any significant change to the information held about them. Can I have a new credit report when it has been updated?

If we correct any information on your credit report we have to send you a copy of the amended entry. However, if you need a complete new credit report then you should make a fresh application. Click here for information about ordering your personal credit report. 795

Can I ask for my credit report to be sent to another address?

For security reasons, all credit reports are sent to your registered address, even if you ask us to send it to a third party. This is to prevent your credit report from falling into the wrong hands.

We would only send out a credit report to a third party if we had received a full, legal Power of Attorney. 853

I don't reside in the UK. Can I still apply for a copy of my credit report?

You can apply for a copy of your credit report if you live outside the UK, providing you are asking about a previous UK address.

1. Print a copy of our application form. You need Adobe® Reader®  to open the printable form.
2. Complete the application, including your full name, present address, and any other addresses you lived at in the UK during the last six years.
3. Enclose a cheque or postal order for £2.00 made payable to Experian Ltd.
4. Send the application and payment to Experian Ltd, Consumer Help Service, PO Box 8000, Nottingham, NG80 7WF.

As you are currently living overseas you should send original documentation connecting you to your present address and previous UK address (eg, bank statement, tenancy agreement, solicitor's letter, or recent utility bill in your name), as well as a copy of your birth certificate, passport, or driving licence.
