You can check your business credit report through subscribing to Experian My Business Profile. Through My Business Profile, you get full visibility of your business credit report, which includes previous search details, credit account and business information.

Why should I check my business credit report through Experian?

The integrity of Experian data is highly regarded within the credit industry for its accuracy and reliability. Our experts work hard to gather information from a variety of sources, including Companies House, to ensure we offer the best possible service, when helping you to understand your business credit report. The information we gather is updated regularly and is one of the only reports of its kind to include commercial CAIS data, giving you the most accurate and fully comprehensive view of your own business credit profile.

What is commercial CAIS data?

Pronounced ‘keys‘, Credit Account Information Sharing (CAIS) is a shared database of your businesses credit history maintained by Experian. All major financial institutions and creditors engaged in commercial lending activities will share details of your businesses credit commitments and how you’re performing on them.

It’s used primarily for the assessment of credit applications, in particular to help prevent customers getting into financial difficulty through over-commitment, and for the prevention and detection of fraud and money laundering.

The sharing of this data is governed by a strict code of conduct, whereby only members of the CAIS scheme can gain access to this data. As the data subject, you can also view this information by accessing your business credit report through My business Profile. To find out more, download our Commercial CAIS guide here
