Patterns of economic growth across Europe are constantly changing. Such differences in growth are clear between countries, but are even more apparent at a local level. Experian's European Regional Service (ERS) highlights and explains these differences by ranking regional economic performance past, present and future. The data is an essential source of information for major investors, property agents, policy makers and economic developers who need to understand regional growth disparities both within and between countries.

How can we help you?

ERS provides a wealth of historical data and ten-year forecasts for approximately 2,000 regions in 30 European countries. The service covers all key centres in the EU, including the new member states. It helps identify hotspots of economic activity, assesses their potential for investment, provides an analysis of regional economic performance and enables organisations to test investment decisions against an independent benchmark.

A few key facts

• ERS uses a comprehensive range of historical and up to date sources such as Eurostat and national statistical agencies, as well as published market research. These data is then combined with Experian's econometric models to produce a set of reliable demographic and economic forecasts.
• Variables held within the ERS include demographics, output measured by value added and GDP, industry performance (value added by industry), labour market performance (employment and unemployment) and consumer spending.
• The local forecasts generated by ERS share a consistent macroeconomic view enabling comparisons to be drawn between key centres and countries.
• The service is available on subscription, with data released twice a year in a user-friendly database. This is also supported by commentary from Experian's team of analysts with twice yearly subscriber meetings. Bespoke analysis is also available on request.
